Ingext Community Edition v1.1.0

Fluency Sysadmin

Ingext Community Edition v1.1.0, the free, self-hosted edition that runs in your own Kubernetes cluster, can now be configured entirely from the command line. It adds the ingext CLI, a data-lake management page that holds multiple data lakes, and application templates for six sources.

Changes

The ingext CLI

  • Most configuration — sources, sinks, routers and data-lake indexes — can be done with the ingext command-line tool instead of the interface.
  • The CLI is part of the installation and ships in the Ingext cloud shell, so it talks to your cluster without extra token setup.
  • ingext status reports the state of each service.

Data lake management

  • A new page manages multiple data lakes, each of which can hold multiple indexes.
  • A data-lake sink now writes to one data-lake index.

Applications

Application templates, synced from the GitHub repository and editable with the CLI, set up six sources:

  • AWS CloudTrail
  • AWS CloudWatch log groups
  • Amazon EKS logs
  • Azure Event Hubs
  • Office 365 audit events
  • Google Workspace audit events

Office 365 setup completes inside the cloud shell, with no OAuth consent step in a browser.

Cloud shell and installer

  • The cloud shell adds the gcloud CLI, alongside kubectl, the AWS and Azure CLIs, eksctl and Helm.
  • Fixes to the AWS lakehouse installer.

The Helm charts, install scripts and configuration guide are in the ingext-helm-charts repository.
